Again… I’m laying here at 2 am, unable to sleep, listening to the nightly noises of our little town. Besides the noises of vehicles, crickets and the occasional person talking or teen giggling… There are the coyotes.
When it’s cold out our windows are closed and then you don’t hear them but every single summer night that we had our windows open I hear the strange howling and yelping and laugh like noises they make. I’m not gonna lie… It’s creeping me out. It’s sounds so close. I live on the edge of the town, so nature with its wildlife isn’t very far and I know that they come into town as well. I feel that all animals have the right to be here… So I’m not hating on them but I’m afraid of them.
It is known that they kill and eat little dogs and cats, they also feast on farm animals (cows, sheep’s, chicken…), deer and other hurt, sick or already dead wildlife animals. The list is long… They are hungry and need to eat too… I get it.
As always … And some of you that have been reading some of my other posts might be rolling your eyes or maybe laughing at me .. But AGAIN .. I went online and did some research about when and why coyotes howl and yelp.
It said it’s either to call for backup when on hunt and/or to invite family and friends to the feast when they killed or found dinner.
And every time I hear them making their creepy noises… I’m so happy that all my pets are home, inside and safe!
